Cocogor ,Btw, the shabby looking building in garden is actually a shed to store all your garden gears etc. Not a garage, too small. As for the front lounge windows, it is in keeping with rest of houses on the street, Mock Dickensian com Victorian. Not the prison iron grid as you perceived. These are old English houses after all. Garden is spacious which is rare find in London. Hence you can extend the back & convert the loft. Atm, Garden is still in winter mode though primroses is popping up. ( the purple flowers). Hence not much colour or life yet and a bit neglected. But I can see some very nice shrubs & young trees. I would give it a year to see what comes up from the ground. Don’t go bulldoze everything out. There could be hedgehogs 🦔 & other wildlife living in your garden. You may not appreciate this yet, but here in UK, we are indoctrinated to make the most of our gardens to boost wildlife & pollinators ( insects). Do our bit to help the planet & climate. Unfortunately, this is a culture HK lacked due to shortage of space. But at the end of your film, you commented enjoy going to parks with Margaret instead of stereotype shopping malls. So to some degree, enjoy nature is an innate thing.🌸

我有個同事都係英國睇中咗一間屋之前用mortage方式confirm咗個買賣合同比個印度人. 但係花咗一年做mortage都做唔到, 結果係取消咗買賣合同. 我同事睇咗間屋都想買, 但係賣屋果間公司發皮氣話以後唔買比亞洲人.
最後的一間排屋幾好，屋外外街環境幾好

East Finchley and Golders Green are pretty good suburb within the borough of Barnet. Why Borough of Barnet is so famous? It has some of the very best state schools in U.K such as The Henrietta Barnett School. And Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet .
I would keep fireplace in main living room for resale value. It gives great vibes for Christmas and Thanksgiving celebrations. . But you can install a more modern look one. For bedrooms, fireplaces are useless. Sometimes it’s not a bad idea to buy a place already renovated. It’s a gigantic headache to hire renovators (many are really bad in my opinion), monitor their works and often tons of follow up and arguments.
Barnet 係倫敦其中一個非常好的學校區。政府的grammar school和私校也在這區。 QE boys 和 Henrietta grammar school 係全英國頭十名男，女政府中學。需要小朋友十歲時考入的。正因為咁，Barnet 一點也不平。

@Cindy Tam The problem with picking the best school district neighborhood is the stress created for the kids if they are not particularly academically competitive, causing them a potential mental health problem. You rather be the number 1 in a mediocre/lousy school than being say number 90 in a class of 400 students at a top top school. In this case, you kids are the best at the lousy school rather than being just an average kid at the top school. University admission officers love the number #1 in a lousy school. It helps the admission statistics to have valedictorians.
